German
manufacturer SPL enriches its Analog Code plug-in series with their
Vitalizer sound optimizing processor. SPL‘s patented filter technology
was first released in the late 80ies and improved ever since in several
product versions. “Together, the different models from the legendary
SX2 to the current Vitalizer versions have been the most important and
best-selling SPL hardware at all“, explains SPL’s CEO and product
manager Hermann Gier. “The Vitalizer is an unique allround tool to add
character and life to any music production, but especially in the
digital domain. So it was no question, if we would release a Vitalizer
Analog Code plug-in. It’s only been a matter of time – the final
programming alone took about four months, but now our hardware
engineers are satisfied, too.”
The plug-in is based upon the Vitalizer MK2-T and will be
released as VST, AU, RTAS and TDM plug-in for MAC and PC.
The
release date is scheduled for December 7, 2009. A public beta version
will be available one week before as demo version at www.theanalogcode.com

pwhughes writes: Hidden within the serenity of Santa Barbara, CA you'll find a new world-class recording and mixing facility, Playback Recording Studio. The name is familiar; it's the same name that its owner, Tucker Bodine, used when he opened his first studio in New York City on the East Coast. In 2009, Tucker completed the new West Coast Playback Recording Studio, which has now been honored with a TEC Award in 2009 for outstanding creative achievement in studio design.
Tucker Bodine began his audio career at SAE Institute's original U.S. campus in New York City. After graduation he quickly went to work in New York prior to deciding to make it on his own and start the first Playback Recording Studio. When Tucker decided to open a facility on the West Coast, he took it to an entirely new level.
Playback was designed by world-renowned acoustical engineer Chris Pelonis, coupled with the cutting edge interior design by Stephanie Bodine and Bernard St. Croix. The moment you walk into the 4,200 square foot facility you know that you're encountering a superior sounding studio with an amazing vibe and design in which to complete any HD service you might need for music production and Post Production services.
"Playback was designed for post production clients and major label artists, and is rapidly gaining a reputation for being a unique destination studio." Explains Mr. Bodine, "The studio was built with acoustics and aesthetics in mind in order to establish a creative vibe and a professional atmosphere."
Since opening, Playback Recording Studio has been featured in Mix Magazine, Pro Sound News, and The Independent, as well as featured on Solid State Logic's web site for the installation of the AWS 900+ console.
More information and details about the design, services, and accomplishments of Playback Recording Studio can be found by visiting their web site.

The MA-201fet is a large
diaphragm, phantom-powered, solid-state condenser microphone with a
fixed cardioid pattern. With its roots in a lineage of microphone
designs by David Royer, the MA-201fet gives warm, full-bodied
reproductions of vocals and instruments, with none of the shrillness

modern condenser microphones.
Utilizing a 3-micron gold-sputtered capsule, high-quality Jensen audio
transformer, military-grade FET and custom designed low-noise
resistors, the MA-201fet performs at a level reminiscent of some of the

with a professional grade shockmount.
