CONTACT MICS
Hi there! My name is Liane and I'm an experimental musician and fine
artist living in Vancouver, BC Canada. I've been making piezoelectric
crystal contact mics that are way nicer than the ones I've been seeing
offered on Ebay and elsewhere and I'd like to make them available to
you! These mics are made with only NEW professional ingredients; which
means
NO ELECTRICAL TAPE, NO BIG LUMPY BUMPS IN THE CABLE and NO EXPOSED
SOLDER JOINTS OR INTERNAL WIRING.
I consider these things important! Electrical tape comes unglued and
leaves a sticky mess! Exposed solder joints and wiring are signs of a
flimsy mic that may break with one accidental yank on the cord. I don't
want that, nobody wants that!
What are contact microphones good for? They're great when used as
pickups for acoustic instruments that want to become electric
instruments. They can be used as drum triggers for electronic drum
modules. They can collect sounds that ordinary mics can't. Their uses
are only limited to what you can get them to stick to. They sound
amazing going into a guitar amp and just as amazing plugged straight
into a minidisc recorder.
