Why I want to use the SPL M/S Master

Currently I have to go ITB to do any M/S processing when mastering a project. I would love to do M/S processing using my analog chain, and the SPL M/S Master would allow me easily do this. It makes the M/S workflow easy by patching in mid/and side inserts directly into the SPL Master allowing me to bypass a patchbay. This is done by the use of high quality relays in the M/S Master (so is powerfail safe if your other processors are relay hard bypass too). The SPL M/S Master would allow me to switch between A/B and M/S stereo processing of my analog processors.
The feature set of the M/S Master is really thorough and has features my ITB prossesing does not have. Besides the normal width and level and mid/side mutes and inserts, it has some cool features like a filter to shape and correct the Side with two eq point settings, and a float switch that mixes some L/R back in. Even the VU's can be swtiched to Peak which would come in handy for me to check and see how close my signal is getting to clip my converters.
I think it would improve my workflow and would be a useful tool in my Mastering process.
Thanks,
Craig

I have a project coming up where I'd like to run a sidechain into a compressor for a little de-essing on the vocal of just the mid channel. Oh would the SPL come in handy!

Looking around there isn't much that compares feature/cost wise to the SPL unit. There are cheaper options (DAV) that are more basic, but even the more expensive Dangerous Music unit doesn't have the feature set of the SPL. Seems like a pretty cool unit to bring to market.

And this thing just looks cool, would be a great addition in my rack!

Sounds like an awesome unit. And indeed it looks cool. I resisted the need for a MS toybox for a while; I may just have to look into this. And I hope you win this... it would be well deserved
