---------------------

NOTE: I will be sending out a mass mail announcing this to all our members in approximately a weeks time. Active members here have a head start.

In brief
bigtree writes: I couldn't do without it now. Once you own something this professional, you will never settle for less. You will immediately understand the difference between a mediocre pre-amp and a high end preamp. When you see how well the ADL 600 is built, hear how much better your mics sound, how your tracks stand out and fit into a mix and how mixing down is so much easier because everything is simply so much more transparent, open and true.

The ADL 600 has silky smooth highs, detailed mids and tight lows. The mic settings, DI and Instrument inputs make this a serious tool for so many recording applications. My first hour of testing this left me with " I love this thing..." My passion is guitar and this beast has no problem getting me there. I plugged direct into the Instrument input and the sound was stunning. From there it only gets better. I've used a variety of mics and they all sounded great. This is a must have preamp.

Approximate value: $ 2200.00 USD

Here are the rules and my disclaimer:

All my giveaways are my rules (bigtree RULES ). My rules are subject to change without notice at any time. I have the right to refuse, remove or edit any member or any blog for any reason at any time. I have the right to change dates and/or extend this at anytime without notice.

NOTE: Winner pays all shipping and handling costs.

May the best blog win!
----------------

To qualify you must do all the following:

NOTE!

The song requirement just have to have the words " PreSonus ADL 600" in it. Of course, how one does this, will definitely increase their chances.
1.) You must write a recording.org blog stating why you want a Presonus ADL 600.

2.) Included in your blog will be a link pointing to a one minute song you composed or engineered about wanting the Presonus ADL 600 ( examples: a love affair, longing for... , the need, a weapon of choice, a girl, a guy called, secret agent ... anything you can think of using the name "Presonus ADL 600") . It must be original and if it has any issue about not being original, you will be disqualified.

Doesn't have to Rhyme.

There are no rules in music.

But...

Lyric idea:

Oh Presonus, you are so fat.... you rocked my socks off, I want you back!

ADL 600 rules, no more searching believing fools.

Oh....

The sound quality of your song does not have to be stellar. I am not looking for the best sounding recording or any particular style or arrangement in this contest. I am looking for originality, spirit and passion. I am solely searching for something that pops out at me. (Note: I enjoy all styles of music so be true and honest with yourself).

3.) You must have a minimum of 5 forum posts since registration date .

Deadline REVISED:

Cut-off has been extended after Christmas Jan. 30, 2011. If you aren't in by then, tough luck. I will then begin to short list 5 blogs. The winner will be selected by either public vote or panel: To Be Announced.

Song Streaming:

All songs must be able to be streamed without the need to download them. If I have to download any song, it will not be accepted. You are welcome to discuss who to use to host your song here. Songs will not be hosted on recording.org. It's up to you to find your source.

Winner:

The winner should be announced Feb 14, 2011. All members and moderators can play. May the best member win!

Get to it!

    Re Hosting Songs:

I have no idea who is better than the other, if there are costs, limits to space, time etc. However, a member asked me to listen to his song yesterday: The site his audio was on worked well: http://www.4shared.com/

A Presonus ADL 600 pre amp in my eyes is an outstanding piece of gear that every fellow studio owner could own at this moment in time.

Hey. Are you being strict on the song time ? Like does it have to be bang on a minute ? Cause if it does.. I may have screwed up .. lol :P (my entry is not in yet but I didn't see the 1 minute bit!!!) It's not MUCH longer than that I was just wondering how strict you are being on the 1 minute thing.

    Thanks bigtree

    Sorry for the delay!

Yes, you can be over or a bit less. The limit is there for two reasons.

Don't borus, get to the chorus... As most A&R and/or anyone that would be juding demo's think. If it doesn't hook us in the first minute, follow?
To give you ample time to set the vibe.

If you are a bit less or over, no worries. If its three mins and it rocks, go for it. Just make sure you are putting you best up front in the first min. Got it?

    Good Luck!

    Contest UPDATE!
Its looking like a lot of people are going to enter here, right on. However... its been suggested that some folks here need the bigtree Christmas extension. Pre Christmas and family stuff going makes this rushed... Plus... I'm thinking people are going to be getting some recording gear for Christmas , oh ya! so...

From a musician/engineer POV, 30 days to get used to any new gear plus, there is nothing like having new gear for inspiration...
I'm going to extend the deadline to Jan 30 2011.

So, All entries must be in before Jan 30 midnight. After that, I short list to five and form there, we create The RECORDING ORG Contest PANEL.

All other rules still apply. Your song must be min 1 ( give or take) and you must include an ADL 600 blog with your contest song linked in that blog. I am only accepting 100 songs for this so if you don't have yours in before then, tough luck. Follow?

    Good Luck!

Bigtree, thanks for providing a creative contest to spur on recording.org members. I just noticed you made an extention of the deadline. Given that you have sole discretion in making the rules, I wonder if you would consider one other minor change.

I have an entry I have been working on, but it runs 91 seconds. Your rules indicate a one minute maximum, but I do not think I could pare it down any further without ruining the integrity of the music that accompanies the spoken part.

Would you consider extending the maximum length of entry to 90 seconds, with a one second grace?
