I had promised not to post more than 20 ditties and after this I'm sure this will be one of the last. What more can you say when the SpitBoys have endangered your hearing?

Fortunately theres no tuba or accordian on this one though I was unable to contain the banjo.

Again, pay no attention to the man behind the mic......he's got no voice this week.

    Here's the track.

In an effort to be fair in this contest, I promise to post less than 20 musical ditties for consideration.

Besides, it hurts my widdle head to think up so much this and that and the other thing about this particular piece of equipment.

Suffice to say, since I've used one, that it will always be my go to pre, my Neumann LOVES it and it'll look great in my rack.

So, hopefully, here is my first installment for the contest.

I have, on more than one occasion, extolled the quality of sound I have personally gotten from a borrowed ADL600. Its time I had one I can use every day.

We have all read or even paricipated in discussions about quality of gear vs. relative quality of sound and for the most part all can agree that the better the equipment, the EASIER it is to achieve quality sound capture. The ADL600 is a working recordists' dream box. I have used it on several different sources with several different ...

I finally got a computer that works, so in order to be solidly in the competition for this program, I must blog.

    But where to start?

Some of you know that I have zero idea whats what on these digital programs for recording and editing. I do mix down projects at a digital studio using ProTools HD but its always with an engineer. Even though by the end of a record I can navigate , somewhat, around that particular program, I still have no idea or concept of the workings ...

  6. Walking The Thin Line

I'm only going to touch on this briefly and anyone else interested can throw in thier own takes and comments to move this forward.....if it makes the grade.....

As a Producer/ Engineer/ Studio Owner/ Session Musician I have to wear several hats ,all at once, when taking on projects. At times, I find myself in conflict with myself, and its like the preverbial ,banging ones head into the wall, only its a wall thats been built by the one doing the banging.

    I wonder ...

  7. The Last 5%

As I'm sitting here listening to the (maybe) final mastered takes on the new record, (oops there went something I gotta fix....errr....) it occurs to me that the truly hardest part is the last 5%. The tracking was done a long time ago and as we know its simply a timestamp of that particular moment. So hopefully, as a producer, I did all I could to get the guys in the best headspace and mood to record their songs at the highest possible level of inspiration at that moment, and as the recording ...
