Awwwwright Bigtree!!!!!!

It's about time us songwriters can show our stuff to the RE's and ME's! I may not be able to tell the difference between solid state or solid ice, but I CAN write :-)

I am hopeful to win the contest because then I won't have to lie around recording.org anymore and hide the fact that I STILL use my digi001.

As a self producing songwriter I have learned practically EVERYTHING I know about recording and mixing from this site (and then lots of trial and error following the stuff I picked up here). I am still certianly no recording engineer (although I sometimes tell chicks I meet that I am).

Nevertheless I spent the last year recording a 5 song demo to shop in Nashville (check it out at lange-quinn.com - The Songs)

In order to focus on writing and recording (which takes me forever because I suck) I shut down my small business, figuring once I was done with the project, I just start it back up. But that didnt work out (my own fault). Because of this I had very little income for the last 3 months and wound up selling a lot of the gear I pruchased since 2004 to pay my bills After unloading a few of my favourite guitars (including my beloved les paul) I started dipping into the hardware in my studio.

One of the last pieces of kit to go was my Vintech x73i. So now, I am BACK to using the sucky pres on my didgi001. Truth is I never would have even known they sucked if it hadn't been for all the advice I got here (don't ya just love the irony)!

So yes, I actually DO need a new preamp. Plus I have a great voice and will do the ADL 600 justice :-)


I'm going to put my song together this week end and post it when Im done.
