Does this interface "talk" to Pro Tools?

No, you have to have specific digidesign/m-audio interfaces. I use mine with protools by having both a US1641 and an mbox 2 mini. I record anything I need multiple tracks for in Sonar with the Tascam then Import the files into protools. I run protools with the mbox to record single track stuff like guitars, bass, vocals, etc.
