• June Club Cubase meeting

Club Cubase Edmonton will have its next meeting on June 1st at Grant MacEwan University, beginning at 7pm. This will be the last meeting before the chapter adjourns for the summer, but it will also be the last meeting hosted by Marcel Hamel. Marcel is quite possibly the longest-serving Club Cubase host, and his chapter celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2009.

On behalf of Steinberg and Yamaha Canada Music, we’d like to offer our most sincere gratitude to Marcel for his generous and tireless contributions over the years. We’re confident that both Marcel and Club Cubase Edmonton will continue to inspire people for many years to come. If you’re in the Edmonton area, please stop by to say hi to Marcel and the group on the 1st.

We are searching for a suitable new host and venue, and expect that Club Cubase Edmonton will resume regular meetings after an enjoyable summer break.

Club Cubase Ottawa will meet on June 2nd at St. John’s Music, beginning at 7pm. Last month’s session was an inspired live recording session with the generous participation of the Lazy River Swing Trio and special guest host Bob Deeks. We’ll use those files this month to discuss mixing and editing techniques.

Club Cubase Toronto will meet on June 9th at Long & McQuade on Bloor Street, beginning at 7pm. This month, we’ll hold a draw for a copy of HALion Symphonic Orchestra, and continue our discussion of music production techniques.

Club Cubase Montreal will meet on June 15th at the Trebas Institute, beginning at 6pm, to discuss the use of VST Effects.

Club Cubase North Toronto will meet on June 30th at Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill, beginning at 7pm. We’ll also hold a draw for a copy of HALion Symphonic Orchestra, and continue our discussion of production techniques.

The next Club Cubase Halifax date is TBA, and will be updated at the http://www.steinbergcanada.ca website as soon as possible.

We also expect that we’ll shortly be announcing a series of Cubase 6 clinics across Canada. There has also been a tremendous amount of interest in establishing Club Cubase chapters in Calgary and Vancouver. We hope that Cubase clinics in these cities will also provide an opportunity to get several interested people together in the same room to establish a host and venue! Please keep an eye on www.steinbergcanada.ca for events near you, and please come out and say hi! You can also follow @ClubCubase on Twitter for Event dates.

    Very best regards,
    Your Canadian Steinberg team
