Arturo Sandoval - Dear Diz (Every Day I Think Of You)

This video is about Arturo Sandoval's "Dear Diz", an outstanding new record from the trumpet/keyboard master.
The recording sessions were heavy on ribbon mics; R-122 on Arturo's solo trumpet, R-121's on the trumpets and trombones, R-122 on standup bass, SF-24V stereo ribbons on each section (trombones, trumpets, saxes), and another SF-24V as an overall room mic. Amazing musicianship across the board!

"I used a Royer 122V tube ribbon and a Shure SM57 on each of the 100W 4X12 cabinets, finding the best speaker in each and placing the mics in front of them."
"Ed would then have the Royer and 57 on different faders on the console and get the blend he liked."
