    hi...i would like to buy new hard discs...i've heard western digital ata 100 7200 rpm 8 mb cache are good but are lit bit more expensive than seagate barracada 4 ata 100 7200 rpm wich are good and for good price too...well what do you think guys?...actualy if the western digital are better maybe i'll go for it...
    but i really want you to help me in this case...please...

    Well, with the 8MB cache you are going to gain preformance overall.

    Spend the extra cash and gove yourself a better performance boost!

    How can you argue with that?!!!

    well...thank you opus...my idea is to buy a western digital 80 gb for data and stuff,and a seagate 40 gb for op...is that a good idea?...what do you think opus?...

    WD all the way around my friend!

    80GB for data and 40GB for OS and Apps!

    When I first got my WD 40GB I had a project that had used up 40% of my CPU...got the 40GB and it went down to about 20%!!

    That tell you anything!

    I'm using a 120 WDJB with a dual XP boot, and a 180 WDJB for data.
    The data disk never bumps the meter in Nuendo with 24 tracks.
