This may be in the wrong section but...
Have any of you ever tested the difference between MP3 sample rates?
Is 320kbit overkill to the human ears?
I have one song I want to send out & want it to sound as good as possible.

Half the people here hate mp3, and even I can tell the difference between a badly encoded 160 and a WAV.
I don't have any 320kbps files, I don't have a great listening chain, and if it was up to me, I'd settle for 160 and that's more than enough.
Some boffins approximate that 32kbps is sufficient per channel for Voice data, but you need 64kbps per channel for music.
(Speex made a mockery of the first comment)
(LAME makes the second comment an understatement).
Curious button pushing Church sound guy has returned from ... wherever he was.
I'd like to clarify, SoundBlasters will do the job.
But they'll do a bloody awful one.
