The following quote relates to exporting data from a Korg D1600. I want to go to Cubase. "Audio data in the clipboard can be exported to a DOS-format external drive, making it easy to exchange data with a computer-based audio sequencer."
My question is are the drives in my new computer (Western Digital 80 gig) what they're calling a DOS-format drive? Thanks Fats

Re: WAV files on Cubase SX FAT32 is a DOS based format...NTFS is not. So if you have NTFS the Korg will not see that drive. I'm assuming(making an ASS outof U and ME :D

Thanks! I was hoping I could xfer files via CDR... but now from what you said, I need to decide if I want to format the drives in my computer to FAT 32... man the guys at the computer shop are going to start to hate me! I really want to stay with NTFS. What is the most common use to accommodate file xfres from the broadest range of formats? NTFS or FAT 32? Thanks Fats

I have a swapable drive bay in my computer. Can I use a secondary FAT 32 drive with OS and software on the main drive in NTFS? Or how about a firewire SCSI drive?

Re: WAV files on Cubase SX Yes, you can use FAT32 as a secondary drive with no problems. Win2K or WinXp both see these types of format. It's 98, ME or lower that do not see NTFS drives.
Using an external FireWire drive should be fine as well for FAT32
