Just wondering, if I was to substitute a capacitor ( electrolytic in this case) with another of the same value BUT with a higher voltage rating, will this be ok? My guess it will be but I need to know for sure..

In this case, I am thinking of the electrolytics in the SSL clone. EG, 25V rated electro cap subbed for the same valued cap but rated at 35V or 50V. I have a bunch of these so called ( audio specific low ESR ) caps lying around and would like to use them. thanx!

No problem. Better. My shortest post.

Well i would say it's ok. I can't see why it should be bad. There seems to be going 25v or less through so a 35V is absolutely fine.
If i remember correctly Kev mentioned to me some time ago than it's not bad to go always a little above what's needed in the circuit for some higher headroom on the parts.

The only thing you should be aware is the size of the caps. Could be that the 35 or 50V versions are bigger and won't fit into your pcb layout. So make sure you can use them in the same place.

Also head for more temperature ... say 105deg.

... even if it is not going to run hot. You may end up with a better quality cap anyway.

Don't use a 450V cap in a 4V cathode bypass. Severe under-voltage bothers some electrolytics. (This may be a thing of the past... caps got a lot better in recent decades.)

Sure, 35 or 50V where 25V was suggested will be fine.

Your biggest concern on the SSL is space. That board is incredibly tight, & in some spots a higher voltage cap is not likely to fit very comfortably.
