new schemo available: siemens U273 compressor / diode bridge limiter

hi folks,

jakob erland was nice enough to stitch my scans and provide the webspace.
he even made a handy pdf-file with photos of my opened U273 as well as the complete documentation including maths and tech talk on diode bridge limiting.
should be an interesting read for the Neve limiter nerds among us.

the problem is that it's all in german - so maybe you guys take a look at the graphs and formulas and let me know what seems to be of interest. I'll take care of the translation and post it here on the board.

you'll find all this shortly in gyraf audio's obscure schematics section.

I'd be more than glad to see a new group DIY compressor project arise out of this and the neve 33609 thread...

Do you know what the values are of the parts in the c800g??? Do you know the ps voltages?

I was asked to fix a c800gs PS: However the person has not contacted me about the repair. Hopfully I will get to look inside one.

oooh, this'll be great. i have a pair of these sitting at home that i've been waiting to rack up. i've barely looked at them, but having some decent schemos will make it all that much easier.

Thanx U2! The U273 is the sitral/germanium version, right? Probably real similar to the U373 silicium version, which will be easier to make than the -24V U273 with perhaps obsolete germaniums. Anyway, it's the diode action that's wicked and important, I think. One could make any amp stage, transistor, tube (nuvistor anyone?), chip and whatnot.
