Just reading the specs here:

It makes for an interesting read.
In movie parlance I think they'd call this a sleeper.

The Texas Instruments TLE2027 bipolar opamp seems to be a largely overlooked device. I wonder why.
In Ben Duncans article "how clean is your opamp", the TLE2027 outperforms just about every opamp in terms of harmonic content.
The test is available on request from Andrea Ciuffoli http://members.fortunecity.com/ciuffoli/
The TLE2027 has excellent drive capability, 50mA, which is very unusual for a simple DIP cased opamp.
The only commercial audio products that I know of that uses it are the Jim Gamble designed Crest Century consoles and his of DCX digitally controlled analog consoles. Jim is a real fanatic about audio quality so his choice of the TLE2027 says something.
Maybe someone here has tried it?

The TLE2027 is a pretty good IC. We've used it in a few of our products.
The problem is that the TLE2027CP has been discontinued. It's only available in a surface mount package or an expensive ceramic DIP.

Hi Vince!
Great to see you here. Although I'm involved in DIY , I know that one day I will buy a pair of ASC equalisers with output transformers.
