Oh, no! It certainly doesn't annoy me! In fact, it's kind of refreshing. In the USA, we generally aren't nearly as open and affectionate, and the differences in our cultures fascinates me. By all means, keep being yourself! :h:

In Cuba we sau "abrazos" which means "hugs" so probably the same in portugese- right? :D
