I've been lurking in the silent DAW thread and just want to know straight up. What do you guys suggest for a good quite case and power supply. This is for the p4b533 build. I have everything but the case. SOS, OPUS... Let your experience guide me.

Well, as I stated earlier I built a couple of machines for our engineers here at work with the Enermax case, the one for 55 buckaroos and I was quite amazed at how quiet the machine actually ran! There's also an enermax case for 80 buckaroos that is sleek and has a little more juice to the PSU, about 50 more jiggawatts...lol
Also there is the Antec cases which have been known to be quiet as well...over all you should get an enermax fan(whisper model) as those are extremely efficient and quiet.
SOS...your turn! lol
Opus :D

Well, my experience is mostly from the school of Hard Knocks. That, plus about 50% of what I know about puters was learned from Opus over the years, lol. However, I do a lot of cruising the internet to try to keep on top of the latest emerging technologies.
Opus said it in a nutshell. Enermax and Antec are the power supplies of choice around here. The more quiet, the better of course. I really like the new Antec PLUS1080 (charcoal grey) cases from Antec. They have a 430 watt P/S and they look awesome. They're not the quietest in the bunch, but I have ways around that ... hehehe.
I really wish one of these companies would figure out a way to make a power supply without fans ... like making it's enclosure one big heatsink .

Hi. The Antec does not have an Enermax powersupply, and yet it is the same case as the Enermax FS-710B and more expensive. Chieftec makes the cases for Enermax and Antec, so you can either get a Chieftec and buy the Enermax whisper seperate, or did what I did and get the FS-710B, which saves a build step. Cheers.
