Any tips or advice on how to go about this?

I have a 001 set up and have never treid to Cancell out a vocal beffore.

Is there a plugin that could help?

Thanx in advance.
I have learnt so much from my visits to RO.

NF,

You can sometimes remove the vocals from a track, but 1) often some the vocal still bleeds through, and 2) the process changes the sound of the track considerably. So it might sound jarring as you edit between the original and the vocal-removed versions. If you have access to an instrumental version of the same track, then the advice from Alex and Bill makes sense. If not, have a look at "The truth about vocal eliminators" on my articles page:

http://www.ethanwiner.com/articles.html

It explains in detail how the process works, the limitations, and gives step by step instructions for removing vocals using SoundForge or a similar audio editor program.

I have a bit of experience here, having worked in the past as a mastering engineer for Muzak...(yes, THAT Muzak...)

Believe it or not, they have a satellite-broadcast rap/hip-hop program...lots of editing required.

It is quite simple to "flip" each problem word, so that it plays backwards without damaging the beat of the song.

Of course it works best on single-syllable words. On multi-syllable words, you can often get away with turning only the "critical" part of the word.

Takes practice, but it is not difficult...

best of luck,

i have also done this a couple of times and what i did was to find a similar part of the song that doesnt contain the cuss word/s eg.Verse, chorus and dub that into the offending spot or using another part of the song with no vocals eg the intro or middle8 that matches the offending part...the spaces are usually so small that its not to hard to do
Cheers :D
