I'm looking for some vintage Neve modules preamps and my question is:
Everybody knows about the high quality of the Brent Averill modules. But this new company (Vintech Audio) promises the same as Brent Averill with a really low price... ($1289 vs. $1859 for Brent).
Do you think that it's possible for two channels of original Neve 1272 to cost $1289?
Please, I need answers, 'cause money doesn't happen by itself!
Thanx!

Well I own an older Brent rebuilt Neve 1272 and love it dearly. Keep in mind that As I understand it, Brent no longer is making/selling the older Neve 1271/1272 module rebuilds unless the user supplies the module and/or he has the extra parts to complete one. He is now making a version with new refabricated parts which is how the Vintech is made. The Brent model is single rack space with outboard power supply and the Vintech is two rack space with internal power and LED meter. My brother owns two of the Vintech x81's, which is the same as the Vintech 1272 + 4-band eq and they sound great. I myself prefer the older, Brent Neve modules with old original parts and PC boards.
