HI, I'm fairly new to home recording, using p.c with Adobe Audition and Mixcraft with a simple Guitar and vocal set up via direct input to p.c, Neither Adobe or Mixcraft seem to work. The audio buffering is too high, creating huge latency problems on Mixcraft and Adobe is doing weird things, playing all the tracks in once song at once, even when muted !.Tried using ASIO software but doesn't seem to be working, tried lowering buffering and sample rate but p.c doesn't seem to save the new values. I have a Realtek High Definition Audio Card in the p.c. Help! Just want to get some basic song ideas on to c.d, nothing complicated. Any advice for a musician getting very frustrated wasting hours on end tearing their hair out!

That could be your first problem, you have an audio card designed for general use, media and games.
I suggest that you disable it and get an audio interface that is designed for recording.

Hi, Thanks so much for the research!!! I had wondered for a while if it was just an integrated general purpose card, makes sense now. Do you have any suggestions for a good audio interface, under a £100.00 or less if possible? How do you disable the card? Concerned it might disable other media capabilities on p.c. So very pleased I can make some headway with recording now!!!! Cheers!!!!!

to get REAL help, you need to give more details, exact model PC if you bought it off the shelf, or motherboard model, bios version, OS version installed, amount of RAM, Free space available on hard drive, the version of of Auditition, and Mixcraft installed.
