Did you know that most of your sampled sounds come from vintage gear. Not everthing but most of what your hearing does. Take a Moog (now called Big Briar) for example. This synth has been out since the beginning of time (just kidding). There's nothing that'll sound like it, at least from an original standpoint. The same apllies to a D-6 Clav made by Hohner. And there's others made by Roland, Hammond, Korg and Arp. These were one of a kind keyboards. You'll probably only find these in some museum or somewhere. I just thought I'd rekindle a little of the past, so some of us can appreciate what lies ahead for the future. :w:

Some of my "Vintage" gear makes more money being sampled than played.
Computers will continue to narrow the gap between "real" and "Memorex" as processing power increases. As that happens, humans will become more sensitive to the differences. Lots of people were fooled by sampled pianos when they heard the first one. Heck, I remember people being fooled by synthesizer brass when it first came out.
Who knows whether a computer will actually ever be "just as good as" the real thing. To me, it doesn't matter...the only thing that matters is if it sounds good.
