I've been holding off on buying the majority of my cable until http://www.vovox.co… VOVOX is officially grounded into North America. Has anyone had the opportunity to hear comparisons between leading brands, vovox, mogami, canare ?

Network Pro Marketing had vovox and I now see its moved to:

Here are some references links http://www.vovox.co… VOVOX: Klangleiter - Sound Conductors.

I'm wondering ( because its a long way for me to wait), if anyone has done a live comparison and if its worth waiting for? What are the price comparisons.

I'm also told that all VOVOX cable is pre connected.

Hello audiokid

Over the years I had a number of real pro cables in use, but Vovox is certainly somehting else...
You should try their microphone and speaker cables...
I attendet an extensive test of Brauner mics, comparing them to the top mics of Neumann, and Vovox cables at a friends studio. Together with a bunch of senior engineers we did a blind test. I want to describe the test we did a bit more detailed:
-Unknown musicians in the recording room ( acoustic guitar & singer)
-4 pairs of identical mics ( Brauner VM1, Valvet & Neumann U87, M149)
-One of each connected with standart cable and one with the Vovox.
-The mics were changed set by set onto the same cables.
-The engineer had them on 2 seperate tracks, no nothing inbetween & same settings on the Icon
-listening through large PMC monitors.
The listeners, standing loosly behind, could not see the desks channels or meters infront of the engineer.
All the engineer did was switching between channels without an audible interruption or altering levels.
So, we did not know which set of identical mics we were listening to on what cable.
15 experienced senior Tonmeister had their eyes closed during the unrythmic forth and back switching.
It was not necessary to raise fingers to tell. Everyone could here the difference all the time.
Occasionally we looked at each other with puffed cheeks and a certain disbelieve in our eyes.
There were no ifs or buts...The discussion was only about the "how" and about the price...
Dirk Brauner and the developing engineer of Vovox were standing by and Dirk explaned why
he had chosen Vovox to be the accompanying cable in his Microphone sets for his top range of mics,
which was basically the same reason what we just heard during the test. It was chosen for sound, not so much for its excellent built quality which can be found in some other cables, too.
I have 4 pairs and a multicore in my studio and I use them all the time. The sound difference is not extremely big since we do not speak of an EQ or FX device, but it is clearly audible there and very pleasing. It really gives you more...sound! And the more is worth the extra cash you spend. If one still thinks it is too expensive for hearing his mikes and monitors closer to the real thing then ever before, just deduct what you are prepared to pay for a good cable, anyhow.. ;-)
That makes it a bit easier....lol
