Another vote for the SM Pro Audio M-Patch 2.
I have it and wouldn't give it up for anything. It's very transparent! Way less than the Big Knob or Central Station affect the signal anyway.

I've found WD's to be the quietest with Seagates running a close second. Maxtors and Samsungs are not far behind that. Hitachi and most others are a little louder than I prefer for audio.

I saw the API 3124, but it comes w/ 4 pres at araound $3,500 and I don't want to shell out that much in one setting.
