While defragging is a good thing to do, I tend not to do it to my audio drive and samples drive only on C:\ for the same reason as Spookym15 mentions.

| The other option would be something like a RME Fireface or digi002 with an ADAT I/O. Add someething like a Focusrite OctoPre or B ADA8000 and you've got at least 16 analog I/O's. |

I agree with Big D here. Use the 10K RPM Raptor for Win XP and PT LE because any 7.2K RPM PATA or SATA should be more than fast enough to stream digital audio.
