ROOM TREATMENT!
Do you have any absorbing materials around the rear of the vocalist? I think the boxy sound is from small room colouration.

| Doubling the panels up WILL absorb lower frequencies... not sure of the best placement for them though. |

I can't see a speaker absorbing any low end frequencies.

Thanks to Paul Whites articles in Sound on Sound, my home vocal recordings sound dry, clean and clear. It also saves me a large fortune!

It's not a digital devise so operating system has no impact. It's purely audio that's coming out.
What soundcard are you running it into the computer via? |
