Check out the dbx 376/386. I believe you can add the channels to your FirePod using S/PDIF without going through the PreSonus preamps.

I would call this a good home studio solution.

Does your "meter" in the output channel show there is a signal in the left and right sides? When you pan do the meters correspond to the sound?

I'll try the circle idea and get them up close to the mics. I'm going to record them as far apart as they feel comfortable singing.

As far as I know my burning software and/or operating system controls the speed. I use a Mac usually with WaveBurner or Toast.
