I'll agree with Nirvalica on the RAM. 1GB minimum, 2GB would be better. You say you're going to be writing beats, which tells me you're probably going to be loading samples, which uses a lot of RAM.

Oh, and to actually answer your question, any multitracking software.
Adobe actually makes one called Audition. There's also ProTools, Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar and it goes on ... |

My #1 feature of the Mbox 2.... Dedicated monitor outputs with their own control.
And Kev is correct, the Mbox 1 cannot do that however. |

As far as I know, the Great River and Chandler are based on Neve designs, but have a different sound to them. The Vintech models sound the closest to the originals.

Did you try updating all the motherboard drivers?
Also did you do an 'upgrade' or did you do a complete reinstall. A complete wipe and reinstall is the best option for switching OS's. |

I'd say use the 57 for the beater side, simply because it's small and can get in where it needs to be.
