The guys here do a great mod so that you can use the fw card with eq , sends and aux either pre or post ader and its pretty cheap

I use the waves rbass or maxxbass it adds subharmonics in the area without adding decibles so you get a deeper fuller sub without the loud clipping of just boosting the level.
