I don't know about it coloring the audio so much as introducing artifacts, even on the simplest vocals. It's always been a pain to have to go through and painstakingly comb through the file to make s ...

You're sending an amplified signal into an instrument input. In other words you're sending a signal at, say +40 into an input that's +4 already. Why can't you use an XLR-XLR cable from the compresso ...

The KSM44 isn't a tube condenser...great mic though.

Here's a few to look at in (or close to) your price range: Rode K2, M-Audio Sputnik and Groove Tubes' GT67 and MD1B. Studio Projects' T3 is cer ...

Switching back and forth is a monumental waste of time. The money spent on two or more pairs should be spent on a single, better pair with quality room acoustics.

Well put...I totally agree. I us ...

I have a stereo pair of Fat Head II's and I love them...use them for amps, OH's and acoustic guitars mostly. They have all the midrange and low mid beef that a ribbon should have with a nice, smooth ...

That's the second plug for that product I've seen this week...I'm going to have to look into it. How transparent is it?

Forget arguments - saying that suggests that the real answer isn't known. It's a matter of the laws of physics - and that argument (in favor of doing it) is a lot of bunk.

Slanting the glass also ...

I do with the API 512 and with lunchbox stuff in general. That'd be my choice...much more flexibility if you go that route. There are tons of great compressors out there for the 500 series box.

The Central Station is fantastic...very transparent, surprisingly good conversion (if you need it) and a totally passive speaker path. I'm not a fan of the Big Knob...very colored, and not it a good ...

Oh yeah, I think the conversion on the RME is certainly at least comparable to the CS. If you want to just use the GUI you'd definitely lose nothing in the bargain.

I used a Big Knob a few times a ...
