overs after src? lower the gain after src. if your src output is
floating point, and your gain algorithm is proper: then any
other change to the sound will occur waaaay below

afaik, decent speakers lack protection.
so that would make it absolutely
necessary to have a volume
control after the converter.

however it seems with a->d it needs a wider margin to be safe that

errors. e.g. when read with a slightly mis-aligned laser.
