No, the Logic instruments and effects are not seperate plugins, but part of the source code and can only be used in Logic.

You could connect via firewire if you have the optional mLan card, or with an ADAT interface with the ADAT option.

It's not Toast, it's the Jam app that comes bundled with Toast.
It allows you to create masters, add crossfades, and control the gap between songs.
It doesn't affect the sound, nor shoud it.

Sounds like you have a MacIntel, the fish fillets are only compatible to Power PC cpu's.

I own both platforms, but the apps I prefer to use for audio and video are Mac only.

In my opinion Logic has the most complete set of bundled plugs, the quality is quite good. Use the include plugs first to see if they fit your needs.
