Unless you need the multiple inputs, go with the mbox. I don't imagine the preamps are materially different.

| In taht price range skip the tube mikes. You wouldn't improve it by changing tubes. The AT is a best buy. |

| You don't need a DI to use the tube head. You need a dummy load to simulate the load of the speakers. Various firms make them, sometimes called a power soak. |
