In Flames use the Peavey 5150 i believe.. that would be the amp you were thinking of. Or the mesas that have already been mentioned would do you very well.

the thing i especially like about the audix drum mics is their clip on mounts. they are small but from my experience they are strong and get rid of potential headaches...

does he still like the distortion from this amp if he uses its line out? if he does, you could get a loop box (switches a loop in and out of the chain) and put it in the loop of that. eg.

no idea... but line6 list them as using their products and you can download the settings for line6 amps.. i dont know whether they recorded with the line6's tho...
