Oops!
Yes, I am so used to using the term VSTI that I went and made things confusing... What I meant to say was RTA SOFT SYNTHS ! While we're at it, free RTA plugs would be nice too!
I'll start, PSP VINTAGE METER .. A great free plug, I use it as an insert on the master channel in Protools as a level indicator when editing film.
Best regards,
mIchAEl

I did this exercise with some other guys at another forum and got great results. I'll reprint some of the responses for everyone here.
[Edit/Delete Post] [Reply With Quote] Here are some snippets that include links etc. Some are great, some ok. There are more links from those sites, so this should keep you out of the dangerous Stockholm streets for a while.
Also check out 2 great mags (and websites), both for some strange reason British.
- future music
- computer music (gives away a cdrom with free shite every month.)
are www.krvvst.com and www.sharewaremusicmachine.com.
I'm taking advantage of that to load up on free VST instruments, starting with IK Multimedia SampleTank FREE (www.sampletank.com), which is a fully functional version of SampleTank without the sound library; new content is available for free download every month. Three more free instrument plug-ins ? JX10, DX10, and ePiano ? are available from JX16-developer mda (www.mdavst.com). I'm also downloading two free FM synths, Vivaldi and Ganymed, from German developer Stefan Jeworowski (http://mitglied.lycos.de/blueflameman). Yet another source is Rumpelrausch Täips (available at http://rumpelrausch.de.vu)
http://tobybear.phreque.com/robobear.sit
(his only Mac plugin on his site ..her's a direct link to spare you from wanting a Pc..cause this guy Makes some seriously Bizarre and cool synths and Fx)
(free Phaser,Wave-shaper,pitch-shifter,Xtreme effed up exploding thing , a pumping compressor and a peculiar synth/drum machine)

(check out rebuilder(WEIRD!!!) and mixed grains)
More Normal but Very important and usefull for anykind of music

Well, I would have contributed to this thread, but it looks like Lambchop and Mark have covered all my bases!!!
Good job, gents! Looks like I've got some more downloading to do myself!
What we really need to do is start a review forum of sorts - so we can post and discuss our opinions of all these freeware plugins and, hopefully, save our fellow members some time by calling out the really bad ones.

Of course, the question being, can we actually get an auxilliary forum for this purpose (so people can actually discuss the specific reviews without a thread like this one getting completely chaotic, or this (more general) forum being overrun with free plugin discussions...

Here's what I had in mind when I started this thread: After people posting new links slows down, I would try them all, delete or at least unfeature this thread, and make a new thread with straight links to downloads of all the plugins. The list would be organized by type of plug, so that if someone wanted a specific device, they could just go get it. Perhaps I could make a poll and userd could rate the plugs that way. Then I could post the ratings by the plugin names in the download links thread. What do you guys think of this?

Are any of these free plugins RTAS, or does anyone have free RTAS plugin links? I heard there was going to be some program for changing VST plugs to RTAS, anyone know anything about that?
