I just had a great idea. Brock, CaptainMark, Griffinator and others have been coming up with some great links for nice sounding free effects plugins lately, and it has inspired me to ask our members to post all their links to free effects plugins all in one thread. After we have a nice collection and the new posts seem to be slowing down, i'll sift through them and post a new thread with all of them neatly sorted by category. This would be a tremendous resource to a lot of people.
So everybody please post your favorite links to free effects plugins!
I'll start us off with a few that have been mentioned recently:
http://www.kvr-vst.com/get.php
...another uber-link site. this site has descriptions and reviews. It has both free plugins and plugins that have to be purchased.
http://noisevault.com/index.php
... i think this may have be posted but these are convolution files for Impulse Response reverbs (SIR being the awesome free one).
Detune - a nice plug that automates the standard trick of taking doubles, panning them, and pitching one up and one down.
Stereo - Pseudostereo plugin.
TestTone - tone generator capable of white and pink noise, sine tones, and sine tone sweeps.
The others either suck, or have been outdone by other freeware plugs.
Keep em comin, guys!
And Teleharmonic, that first one is a real gem! Thanks! Also, I edited your post to change the link for the SimulAnalog site so that it would lead people right to the download area... I had to dig to get there.

These are plugs that I use on a regular or semi-regular basis that are absolutely free... These plus the fishphones plugs and SIR which are listed in the topic opener.
I've always been a little gun shy where free plugs are concerned but these all work great for me.
enjoy,
Brock

As for the new compressor, the coder has to take a few days off to do a paid job (!), so the new ETA is next week. At the moment it looks and sounds excellent and is rock solid, we just want to implement another feature or two and optimize the code a little.
In the meantime, anybody looking for a great compressor can head over to www.sonalksis.com and download the 30-day trial version of the SV-315. It's very tasty, as is their eq, but not cheap. (Cheapskate tip: install the VST version first, then after a month the DX version, that way you can test it for 60 days!)
