David,

I like your ideas regarding reviewing, rating and grouping the plugs. Can you put them in a 'sticky' thread that would remain at the top of the forum when somebody enters? That way it could act as a reference section which we could add new plugs to and you (as Moderator) could revise and add to it as you see fit.

Lambchop,

Yes, I plan to have the list as a sticky, just as this thread is for now.

Maintiger,

For now, this list is only DirectX and VST, and I don't think there is much distinction in most of the sites with regards to OS, but when the time comes, i'll think of something. Wink

THAT compressor/limiter!

First a brief word from the developer:

QUOTE
instructions:

Left click in big box and drag left/right to set gain from 0db - 16db
Right click in big box and drag left/right to set freely -96db - 16db

Same can be done in the Gain box.

Left click in Output box and drag left/right to set
the output ceiling (-60 - 0db )

Right click in output box to reset (0db)

DULL/SHARP left click and drag left/right to set
peak shape. Too sharp produces clicks and pops...

Left klick in Algorithm Box to toggle FULL/SMOOTH algo.

Left click EQ to open/close EQ section..
Right click to turn off/on Body/EQ.

Left click and drag left/right on body, bass, mid,hi
sliders.

right click on sliders to reset.

Left click and drag left/right in Freq boxes to
set freq:

Bass = 80-500hz (breakpoint)
Mid = 500-3000hz (center pos)
hi = 3000-20000hz (hi end enhancer)

Body will beef the input signal
Bass will beef the low end.
Mid will raise the gain of mid range.
Hi will enhance hi end.

Experiment! (I do....)

[elogoxa]
http://www.uv.es/~ruizcan/p_vst.htm
X-Cita: Harmonic enhancer, on par with BBE Sonic Max!
Baxxpander: Like Waves MaxxBass, but does things it can't do
Elottronix DL: Fripp-style delay tool
Sun-Ra: Ambient VSTi. Very cool and crazy sounds.
CosmoGirl: Space VSTi. Again, very cool and crazy sounds.

Thanks alot for the great link. I won't be adding it to the plugins sticky since that thread is for effects plugins only, but i repeat, that's a great link.

i had downloaded a few of these free plugins before thinking about the formats. will these work with pro tools le? i know that pro tools uses a different type of plug-in, but will these ones still work? also, i generally like to do the audiosuite plug-ins better than the real time, because my cpu doesnt have much processing power.. does anyone have any tips on getting plug-ins for pro tools? thanks a lot.
