Hello all, this is my first post on this forum. I have a client interested in making some percusion technique videos. He has done them before but has not been happy about the audio. He would like to be able to multi-track the audio for mixing to the video after it has been edited. How would one go about doing this? I have a dual G4 Mac running Digital Performer 3.11(hopefully soon 4.5) as my DAW and a MOTU 1296 interface. I am interested in how to work with a video company that will record and edit the video that I can inport into DP and mix the multitrack audio to. Maybe an OMF from the NLE would place my audio files in the right place? Or maybe just a copy of the EDL could allow me to use the timecode to place the audio? Thanks for your help.
OMF works nice, real nice. If they set up their project in FCP and have a few layers of audio, OMF is the way to go.
