What are the differences between the original 609, the 609 Silver and the 906 which seems to be more or less a 609. Haven't had a chance to use any of them so any input would be great.

The e609silver is supposed to be modeled after the original md409. Compared to the e609 it is a little less expensive and sounds a little brighter, with a bump somewhere around 4.5k.
The e906 has a 3 position filter...here's a quote from their site:
"one boosts the presence range (with a mid frequency of 4.2kHz) for aggressive metal rhythm guitars. The Normal position is great for classic rock. And the third position attenuates the presence range, with a mid frequency of 4 kHz, for warm and smooth jazz and blues sounds"
All three are supercardioid and have a frequency response of 40hz-18khz.
