Hey guy,

not a bad thought providing it keeps the inside cool enough.
with those 140 mm fans on those ps u use just might work.

Scott,

yes and it works even better on the tower as hot air moves upwards. That is why I like to use the ATI cards as they have low heat emissions compared to the nVidia and the video card seats behind the cpu cooler.

With the giga-byte boards this set-up works great but you have to be willing to use the psu with 140mm fan.

so;

video card ----> cpu cooler ----> PSU -----> out

All fan speeds controlled by system board. No more fanmates or crap like that.

So far so good. Not one single bad PSU.

Guy.

Hey Guy,
yeah we have been using them a little while now.
i like the fanless 480!
wish they had something that was EPS 12v with 8pin.

so... glad to see you finally got rid of those P4 PCI-E systems
you were defending so hard.

welcome to the dark side err more like the Light side new Jedi!

sorry excited about Starwars.....

But please, lets not play this game here in the forums and turn this thread into a contest.

Guy,

Firstly I am not interested in a contest, I asked you a simple question , that you have not answered btw, and considering you are being so coy about the actual cooler, I still think you are stretching it.

I am not defending the Zalman 7700, I personally find them to be a noisy, groaning P.O.S, that do not give any better performance than the 7000.

As I stated earlier, I already have an awesome heatpipe solution for my systems which achieve similar performance to what you have quoted, are not these tall cumbersome Tower units that you mentioned , and also weigh about 450 gramms all up.

I have a fair idea what your using , but considering your behaving like its some state secret instead of a commercially available unit, I 'll keep my cards close to my chest as well.

BTW: Any New PIV 500J or 600 Series will comfortably run within that thermal envelope you are quoting , so its not exactly a revelation :-)

P.S: I still stand by my comment that your claim of the unit being good to 4.4 Ghz is extreme , actually , lets call a spade a spade, its Hyperbole, I thought we had got past that stage.. sigh.. :-)

P.P.S : I'm with Scott, whats with the slimmed down product line, its like a moving target at the moment, I checked your page earlier this week and you only had an Intel PCIe single CPU system, and a Dual Xeon System , today you only have an AMD NF3 system and the Xeon, you can't be serious that after all of the noise regarding the Intel PCIe systems , that actually work fine, you have dropped the whole product line ?? Each to their own Bro, what ever works, have fun with NF3 systems while they last ... LOL.

Scott,

Thanks fore the tip Mate, but I have a way, way better unit.
I'll fill you in offline if your interested. Drop me PM over at the Nuendo Forum.

I'll let you boys get back to it... :-)

Peace.

Scott,

noooooooooooooooooooooo!

We are going with the 955 for the early adaptors. I am a PCIe defender. Very Happy . The PCIe drop is just temporary as the new web design is taking longer than anticipated.

Try this out;

I think it's a shame that trolls like Jay Dee come here and turn this forum into a pre-school just when ADK and SONICA start to get along with each other.

Troll ?? LOL !

Priceless !

Your kidding me right, the behaviour on this forum has been akin to a pre-school way before I set foot here , actually the signal to noise ratio is far from being of any use to the vast majority , and anyone who witnessed the recent free for all from my 2 above formentioned friends can bare witness to that.

BTW,: I doubt anything I say is going to effect the air between Guy and Scott, and why would it. Mind you , you are from Adelaide, so I really wouldn't expect you to get it even if I did type this reply really s l o w l y ..

Your contribution here is worthy of what exactly ?

You know what, spare me, I'm outta here, I am more than happy to wipe this sad little excuse from my space..

LOL! Actually about to piss my pants laughing you're so funny! Well that's exactly what I'm mean by pre-school stuff.

My contribution here is most likely useless (not that I feel I have to justify myself to you) but having said that it's still better than what you've contributed.

I'd rather not be hero wanker types like you who post on forums pretending like there is some magical secret to making PC's perform and perform well with any sequencer/ audio interface combination. If you were as clued in as you pretend to be you'll know there is no secret to building high performance DAW's that'll work with anything. Anyone who knows anything about a PC could build a high performance stable DAW.

Personally I can handle the hero talk but I think it goes too far when you start having arguments about what is essentially crap. Again anyone who knows anything will know that both Intel and AMD systems are potentially stable and high performance platforms for DAW's.

Hmmm,

Seems a sense of humor is in desperate need for some..

O.k, I'll take the bait !

Correct , your contribution here is usesless, and from any of the other commentary I have witnessed from you, its true to form. You don't have to justify anything to me my friend, as any of your commentary is equated to a fart in the wind.

This one I love the most. You have some how drawn some amazing cohesive conclusions to my character , from what exactly. So here we have an arm chair expert, flailing in his insecurities, attacking me for daring to participate in forums on a technical level, when in actual fact, according to this genius, its an absolute no brainer for anyone to actually get a stable working solution.

Thanks for the heads up, there Mate. LOL.

I can not for the life of me figure out what the hell you are barking about here , Where have I fueled any Intel, AMD debate. I think you need to check your medication there Bro, your a touch over sensative. Perhaps before you come in half cocked again , you should actually try and understand what is being discussed, and in what context.

But then again, judging by the level of intelligence present in your commentary, I doubt you would actually have the capacity to understand anything outside of your own narrow headspace.

LOL! Just go back and read what little you've posted and you'll see just how arrogant you are. As for a sense of humour who's the one attacking.... I wrote:

That's easy... Go back and have a look at what you've posted....

Sorry I didn't know you keep tabs on what I post. Maybe you should be the moderator and that way you can just delete all the useless stuff I contribute.

Sorry you took offence to this, you should lighten up because it wasn't specifically directed at you that's why it was in a new paragraph. I should have made that comment more clear that it was more aimed at those that who look for Intel v AMD flame wars.

Seriously is that the best you can do for a personal attack? That's p*ss weak!

That would be hard considering my level of intelligence as you pointed out earlier.

Not bad from someone who said:

It's not my fault if the solution i suggested is IMO (and IOO) a perfect solution.

HI,

first Guy and i have always got along, until the PCI-E thing got out of control.
and thats over with.

second: JayDee is extreamly knowledgeable in computers and Pro Audio use. troll is hardly the right word for him.
he has been around this scene longer than most.

3rd: NO not anyone who can build a computer, can build it for pro audio.
at least not to the performance level that I, Guy and JayDee demand of our systems.
