Default Adobe Audition help. wav file is distorted.

Hi. I was mixing some files in Adobe Audition 3 as 1 long wav file. I finished the mix and it sounds awful. It sounded good when I first mixed it, but now it sounds as if it is distorted. I think I saved it as the wrong file. Microsoft ADPCM Wav file. What can I do to fix the mix to make it sound good? I am screwed. Do I have to start the mix all over again?

I would appreciate if someone could help me. Even fix the file for me.
    thanks!

You should save as Windows PCM for uncompressed goodness.

    Correct if wrong general public.

I'd like to clarify, SoundBlasters will do the job.
But they'll do a bloody awful one.

OK. It's very improbable that your file can be fixed, by anyone, including us Hacks, or them pros over there.
However, you *should* have backups of everything which you can revert to. No? Well, you need to start again.
Unlucky - and next time save to PCM.
Once you're finished polishing it, you can cram it into a mp3 and let your friends miss out on >10KHz.

(I know, the cutoff is 16KHz, but it rolls off the high end. Plus, iPod earphones don't go that high, do they?)
