Wht exactly are the diffusors how do they react in the room where to put them.... i heard and read at some places.. that diffusors are placed on ceiling and at the rear of the room according to your speaker positions i m in the process of making my project studio now a days...offcourse budget is an issue...but yes so far i have put Mineral Fiber sheets. I have just created an inch of a lyer of Mineral Fiber sheet isolation from outside and sound going outside is not a big issue at my place i m not even recording live sessions like drums at my place.. so wht should i be doing after installing mineral fiber sheets... and oh yeah my monitors are Tascam VL-X5 i always try different monitors so i m trying tascam this time... so yeah a little guidence will definitly help me make my room sound better...

youve started a long journey trying to figure these things out and there's shit loads of things to consider but ill get you started on this one.....
one of the major battles we fight is in making sure that what we hear is what actually took place in the studio.... i know that sounds weird to you and obvious to most of the rest of the people that will se this but just sit back and contemplate that.... OHM...... (sorry) think about it are you hearing the recording or are you hearing the "room" and its reaction .....
the smaller the room the more it will contribute to "the sound" and the primary issuses have to do with bass build up....(another topic) and reflections within the room..... if you have parallel walls (again sounds funny everybody does right....wrong) you have standing waves.... what this means is a sound will tend to bounce if you will between the walls and "amplify" pitches that are numerically related to the distance... (remember we often talk about sounds as wavelength) guys equiped with the math can even predict what freqs will cause you problems... and nothing for instance sounds worse than a perfect cube....one of the first solutions of course was to just deaden everything suck everylast little bit out of the room... this gave rise to the sound of the 60's-70's and its patently dry sterile sound that was then reanimated throught he use of reverbs... again very artificial sounding..... time marches on and a lot of different things were tried...(google lede for instance) but the upshot of it all is that what we've found is were better off trying to controll the reflections and so we have diffusors.... the idea being to add some randomness if you will to the reflections or even set in motion reflections that bounce around the room but never get tothe mix position..... ok someone else take over....
