Also, he has a friend who knows the unit, and can possibly copy the manual. |
RR,
I'm not interested myself.
I was just intreged by the way this thread evolved.
You ask an opinion about equipment without exact description or link to judge.
And others start giving better alternatives as substitute for someting they don't know what it represents, without asking any related questions.
Hence I became curious in fact what this equipment was about since audio analysers style B&K, Norwegian Electronics and the likes can buy you many, many ETF5s and R+Ds.
It most likely isn't, but what it is is still a question mark.
Best regards
Eric |

The Inovonics 500 audio analyser, was originally used with a calibrated microphone for voicing PA systems and control room monitors. It was also used without the microphone for other real-time frequency response analysis, such as for tape recorders and quick console verifications.
These days, so many different software's already included audio spectrum analyzers of different varieties, it's almost useless to have that Inovonics 500 audio analyser unit, unless you're doing something where a computer with that type of software is unavailable? It certainly makes for a fun toy to watch work.
Stay away from rectum analyzers

including computers ....
Remy,
Thanks, it's sounds as you're describing outdated equipment.
Strange one can't find it on the net.

Flaviu,
> only 18 MB <
Interesting, thanks. I could have sworn that JohnPM once told me it was 100+ MB. Either way, I'm not usually willing to load yet more stuff onto a computer that is working perfectly just to try a new program. In this case I'm going to Ghost back soon anyway though.

Eric,
Inovonics, Inc. was founded in 1972 and (apparently) makes high end gear intended mostly for broadcast purposes -
They seem to be a respected player in the field - and their products demand a fairly high price (see here for some info in general):
http://www.proaudio.com/index.php?cPath=373&sort=1a&page=2
However - the 500 is apparently so old that they do not even refer to it in their out of production products - whic I find interesting.
If you want to visit their website here's a link:
http://www.inovon.com/
Sincerely,
Rod |
