hey i have been doing music for about 3 years now and im finally about to get pro tools and other stuff, im building a recording studio in my room right now and i was wondering if anyone out there could help me...first off, what is the best kind of protools to buy for recording songs and producing beats? i dont want to buy the wrong thing, and, what are some good ways to soundproof your studio, i know that i probably cant take all the sound away but if anyone knows how to take most of it away, please let me know....thanks

Mark,
Welcome to RO!
I'll let others comment on your Alsihad questions...
As far as your studio... I'll invite you to come on up a coupla' forums to the Acoustics Forum.
Lots of knowledgable folks up there. I would strongly encourage you to read and follow the "pre-post" guide that Rod put up. It's especially helpful if you follow that, as it allows the gang to offer you the most concise help.
Looking forward to hearing about your progress!
