hey everyone , Ive changed from playin a stomp box with plate mic inside, which ive used for 6 years, to using the DM5 drum brain and an external trigger.
After trying 5 different designs of trigger using a transducer ,wired reverse polarity, I still cant get one with a 100 percent consistency.
I,ll tap the trigger and at least 1 kick drum beat wont be recognized each song, which is really frustrating.
Any ideas out there of a trigger that works All the Time would be much appreciated, cause this prob is driving me nuts.
The trigger needs to be light weight and travel freindly, one that fits in my guitar case would be perfect.
ANy ideas out there to share ?. Cheers ! |

Welcome to the world of "buy yourself some real drums".
Triggers are not 100%. Did you get into the menu and adjust the velocity and crosstalk parameters? There will always be a chance of false triggers by conductance, but you should be able to dial in really close.
Personally, I worked with a band where the drummer made his own drums. They sounded incredible. He insisted on playing to an EMu and the D5, using DW triggers. We never once had a problem, and he had all of this toms on a cage, and the whole cage and kick attached to the floor, which would move during the show, etc. So, if we had moving drums and a floor that resonated, and a cage, I would say that the issue is in the parameters. |
