Hi,

This is as far as I dare to go in "stripping" a CK12.

Anyone know how to take the backplates out of the plastic? Looks like the plastic are two separate parts. (some places there are red paint in between them).

    Thanks

    Richard

Is that from a 414? I think they made the Ck12 up until the 70's when they switched from brass to plastic around the backplate. Then they later reissued the CK12 proper. Myself I don't know how much of a difference I've heard. But brass last longer when it comes to picking your teeth. Tastes better too.

    Richard,
I'm dissecting a KK67 capsule that I'll try to post some picks when I can.

No need to go a lot further with your stripping though it would be nice to get a look at the resonant chamber behind the backplate.

1978, I believe, but they still called the new capsule 'CK-12'.

    Tim,

Looking forward to those Neumann-capsule pics?

The CK12 that I have is from a C24. I'm not sure when they stopped making those.

The later, white nylon, CK12's are assembled with a bayonet-type thread that joins front and back half.

So you may try turning one of the halves while firmly holding the other half?
