Hey everyone. Just thought I'd post a link to my entry for the Soundsonline.com video composition contest. There was a grand prize winner and 5 runner-ups. I wasnt any of them (Lol). So anyway, I just thought I'd post this as I dont hear too many midi compositions on this site and maybe it would be helpful or insightful to some. Here is the link: http://pub.fuoss.net/Zygotic%20Squish.mov
You will have to have Quicktime to view the file. I thought my piece was pretty decent but the competition was fierce. Those that won certainly deserved it. As always, when judging music for video, it's all in the ears of the director and I guess I didnt match his aural vision. Still, I enjoyed writing this and it should stand well as an addition to my demo reel.
The major guideline for the contest was to use only sounds from EastWest/Quantum Leap. You could manipulate the sounds/samples with whatever effects you wanted. The winner recieved like $2500 worth of brand new libraries. Looks like I'll be acquiring those the hard way. Lol.
Thanks for the listen and I'd love any feedback you had to offer.
