Sony FX-1 and its pics

Hi guys,

I posted that link in another section on this forum a while ago, so here it is again, because some of you want to know more about the picture quality of the FX-1 or any other decent HDV camera around.

We never had any problems with the FX-1 so far. It's easy to set up, the menue is easy to understand, you can shot your stuff in almost any scenario and, far more important, no dropouts (depends on tape though), no mpeg artefacts caused by moving it around too fast or something like that. It's one of those cameras that I would definitely take out to a rough climate like the antarctic.

This one was shot in HDV1080i50. We played a bit with the shutter and so on, and edited that on FCP.

It's german, don't care about it. BTW. the music was recorded and mixed completely in the box.

The FX-1 is proving to be one heck of a camera. We got ours about two months ago and have been using it every week since. Lots of clients are noticing the improved quality that we can deliver even in SD. One job was to shoot some pictures of the town for a promo. We did it without a stedicam and basically put a tripod in my van and shot out the window in HD format. The stuff is awesome and played back on our Sony XBR monitor it looks darn near perfect. No artifacts, no playback glitches, no nothing except great pictures.

I am sold.
