Could you give me a bit more information on how your midi cables are plugged up? Bare minimum I'm thinking the motif should have a cable connect from midi out to mbox midi in and the mbox midi out should connect to motif in...seem correct to you?

Don't start handing out gold stars just yet, I don't have one of these so I am just going through some basic hookup ideas:)
You have a L/R output on the motif...are these connected to anything? Have you plugged in a pair of headphones into the back of the motif to experience the sound it makes?
How much of the manual for the motif have you read? It has a lot of hookup options that you may need to look at for your specific requirements.

MIDI isn't audio, it's only data. It might be because the Motif ES isn't sending a sound with the notes and only sends the notes.
Try adding a sound to it within Pro Tools. |

guys i have connected L/R output from motif to insert channel on my Mackie Mixer. And the headphone works great. i hear the motif sounds thru my krk speakers but Mr. Slice Is kinda right Motif sends the notes and i can see them in protools but no audio again Its so sad to have this problem. There is no sound with the notes when i play bak my midi performance. thanks guys. IS THERE ANYTHIN TO MAKE MOTIF TO SEND NOTES AND DATA ALL TOGETHER. and i have read not the whole thing but most of the manual and there it says to make sure ur PORT and MIdi RECIEVE AND TRANSFER ARE THE SAME AS THE PROTOOLS. IS THERE anything IM missing guys?????? |

Try connecting it by USB instead of MIDI, or using the audio out and connect that to your computer, or through the Mackie then in the computer. |

Now hold on fellas. Don't change it all up I got ya right where I know what you are doing.
Now arm a stereo pair of tracks for recording AUDIO in pro tools, set your levels and wa-laa! Noise.

Doesn't your computer have a USB jack? (you will need a USB 2.0 for this though)
Forget about the MBoxPro, go straight to your computer...
Or like Space and me said, record the audio from the Motif. |
