And besides, the Heineken Phase Flip is reserved for the double-secret mic'ed snare. I think it's your Amstill Light Phase Flip that works on the kik...

actually the polarity of the kick is inverted
in the last mix

O, and heineken is considered wee in my part of the Netherlands Smile

You should try Brand or Alfa if you're into dutch lager

Now, you try this on the kik:

Scoop out a lot of the low-mids in the kik, like from 200hz all the way up to 1k.
Then, boost a tight band of 4K, keep boosting it until you hear the beater smacking the skin.
See if you don't get better definition out of it that way.

Okay....Who likes green beer anyways?

The drums are still .....I dont want to say 'loud' although they are....I want to say...still too dry for the mix. Yeah.

When the distorted guitars come in theres a HUGE hole in the mix that these guitars seem to suck all the sound from. Theres no mids at all! These supposedly BIG GUITARS are almost inaudible even though there seems to be a LOT theres nothing in that space.

The bass has a nice figure to the line. Its almost there as far as its tone and clarity.

Try sub-bussing the drums as a whole...And then compress the living crap out of em. DO NOT ADD THE BASS GUITAR TO THIS!!!!!

BTW.....I hate the cymbal sound. Those sound like really dry heavy cymbals, And even though its just my opinion, these are okay for live and suck for recording. You can hear how thick and unresponsive they are and how they stick out of the mix. Perhaps the heavy dose of compression will tame them down a touch.

OK

Yet another fresh mix
It finally dawned on me that I'm used to music that requires a natural mix
so this time I tried to leave that behind
doing the newyork compression trick and ridiculous amounts of eq
