Receptacles

My Basement studio is coming along nicely. The framers just finished with the walls and the new ceiling that will totally isolate it from the rest of the house. The electricians finished also and the inspector came through and gave it an ok except I wanted to leave receptacles off two of the walls that will have a double sheet rock with green glue application. He said I can't leave them off because of codes so they will have to put two receptacles in each wall.

What product can I use on the back of those receptacles for soundproofing? I know that quiet rock company makes some kind of goop you can wrap them in but I am not too sure about it. Do they make a lead cover or sheath you can use on the back of those receptacles?

Go to your local electrical supply house and get Putty Pads

They're a fire rated pad that you cover the entire box with including the penetrating point of the wire.

Wrap everything tighly (tight & fully flush with the face of the box) apply the first sheet of drywalll - fold the pad back over the first sheet and then install the final layer......... caulk the perimiter (with proper backer rod) and you're done.
